One of his current research interests is to develop a universal influenza virus vaccine. In addition to his appointment in the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, he is the Infectious Disease Program leader for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/discoverypark\/pi4d\/\">Purdue University Institute of Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious Disease (PI4D)<\/a> and a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearch.purdue.edu\/\">Purdue Center for Cancer Research<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/discoverypark\/drug-discovery\/\">Purdue Institute for Drug Discovery<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/discoverypark\/bioscience\/index.php\">Bindley Bioscience Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mittal was one of five named and distinguished faculty recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting. The others were Tony Vyn, named the inaugural Henry A. Wallace Chair in Crop Sciences; David Love, named the Nick Trbovich Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Steven Pekarek, named the Edmund O.
