The Purdue Veterinary Medicine community is saddened to learn that an alumnus in the DVM Class of 1975, Dr. Robert \u201cBob\u201d Goodwin, Jr., of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 11 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 72.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A native of Noblesville, Dr. Goodwin was a 1969 graduate of Noblesville High School.\u00a0After earning his Purdue DVM degree in 1975, he went into private practice as an equine veterinarian with a special interest in race horses and equine breeding.\u00a0Outside of the veterinary medical profession, his other interests included his pumpkin patch, which was a big hit with his grandnieces who looked forward to going there to pick out their jack-o\u2019-lanterns.\u00a0He also was known for his strawberry jam and his legendary knowledge about coin collecting, which was shared widely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A gathering to honor Dr. Goodwin will be held at a later date. The Randall & Roberts Funeral Home<\/a> is handling arrangements.\u00a0In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton East Public Library, 5 Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN 46038.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
