Also providing support are the Purdue colleges of Veterinary Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, and Pharmacy and the departments of Basic Medical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next call for proposals for women\u2019s health grants will begin in September. In addition, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/discoverypark\/WGHI\/research\/WGHI-Peachey-Call-for-Proposal-2023.pdf\">request for proposals on breast cancer research<\/a> to be supported by the Catherine Peachey Fund is accessible via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/discoverypark\/WGHI\/research\/The%20Catherine%20Peachey%20Breast%20Cancer%20Research%20Grant.php\">WGHI website<\/a> with the deadline of March 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five other recently awarded WGHI grants are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cDevelopment of a Culturally Tailored, Adolescent-driven, Dual-protection Intervention Approach for South African Adolescents.\u201d Jennifer Brown, associate professor of psychological sciences, and Lochner Marais, professor in the Centre for Development Support at the University of the Free State in Bioemfontein, South Africa, are principal investigators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cExploring Patient Experiences with Miscarriage Care in Indiana in the Midst of a Shifting Regulatory Environment.\u201d Kathryn LaRoche, assistant professor of public health, is the PI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cEvaluating the Impact of a Community Health Worker for Diabetes Management in Self-employed Women in India.\u201d Faria Chaudhry, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, and Sonak Pastakia, professor of pharmacy practice, are PIs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cEarly Breast Cancer Evaluation in High-risk Subjects Using Advanced MRI Modalities.\u201d Joseph Rispoli, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, is the PI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cTargeting FGFR to Prevent Obesity-induced Metastatic Recurrence in Breast.\u201d Michael Wendt, associate professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology, is the PI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/discoverypark\/WGHI\/index.php\">Women\u2019s Global Health Institute<\/a> at Purdue University serves as a nexus of interdisciplinary research to create partnerships, promote research and develop training opportunities to improve the health of women globally.
