{"id":14844,"date":"2022-02-11T12:38:16","date_gmt":"2022-02-11T17:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qa.vet.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=14844"},"modified":"2025-12-02T08:54:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T13:54:33","slug":"purdue-veterinary-medicine-makes-connections-at-ivma-crossroads-veterinary-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/purdue-veterinary-medicine-makes-connections-at-ivma-crossroads-veterinary-conference.php","title":{"rendered":"Purdue Veterinary Medicine Makes Connections at IVMA Crossroads Veterinary Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In spite of a tricky snowstorm that swept into Indiana on the eve of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association\u2019s (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.invma.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IVMA<\/a>) Crossroads Veterinary Conference last week, Purdue Veterinary Medicine was well represented in the exhibit hall with a booth showcasing a breadth of services provided by the college.&nbsp;The conference was held Friday and Saturday, February 4-5, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Noblesville Conference Center.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"518\" height=\"382\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Susan-at-IVMA-2022_sm.jpg\" alt=\"Leslie and Susan stand beside the PVM booth in the conference exhibit hall\" class=\"wp-image-14847\" style=\"width:450px;height:332px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Susan-at-IVMA-2022_sm.jpg 518w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Susan-at-IVMA-2022_sm-300x221.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Susan-at-IVMA-2022_sm-319x235.jpg 319w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 518px) 100vw, 518px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Susan Xioufaridou meets with Purdue veterinary alumna Leslie Popplewell Ferguson (PU VN AS 2001) at the Purdue Veterinary Medicine booth during the IVMA Crossroads Conference in Noblesville.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>PVM Director of Alumni Relations and Special Events Susan Xioufaridou said the well-attended event provided a great opportunity to connect with the college\u2019s alumni and friends.&nbsp; \u201cIt was fantastic to be able to meet face to face with alumni who I haven\u2019t been able to see in person in two or three years,\u201d Susan said.&nbsp; \u201cAnd you could just feel the energy in the exhibit hall.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Susan explained that part of that energy might have been triggered by attendees learning about new tests available from the <a href=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/addl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory<\/a> (ADDL). Or perhaps it was tied to the excitement surrounding the new Veterinary Hospital facilities, named the David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex, which will be dedicated April 8.
