College of Veterinary Medicine continued a long-standing tradition when Dean Willie Reed congratulated seven faculty members on their promotions during the annual PVM Promotions Reception Thursday, April 19, in the Continuum Caf\u00e9.\u00a0 The caf\u00e9 was set-up to showcase hand-drawn illustrations of the faculty members by PVM Professor of Medical Illustration David Williams.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1331\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1331\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1331 img-responsive img-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0251_Promotions_Thompson-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Dean Reed pictured with Dr. Thompson\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1331\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Craig Thompson, clinical associate professor of veterinary clinical pathology, is recognized as his hand-drawn illustration by Professor of Medical Illustration David Williams is unveiled during the Promotions Reception.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThank you so much for coming as we celebrate these milestones in the careers of our faculty,\u201d Dean Reed said at the start of the event, before moving around the caf\u00e9 to unveil each piece of art. \u00a0\u201cLet me say on behalf of the faculty, staff, and students, congratulations on this amazing milestone in your careers.\u201d\u00a0 Dean Reed also thanked Professor Williams for his drawings.\u00a0 \u201cThis nice, artistic work is a wonderful tradition that we have in Purdue Veterinary Medicine,\u201d Dean Reed said.<\/p>\n<p>This year, two faculty members were promoted to full professor, four to associate professor, and one to
