{"id":13049,"date":"2021-08-13T12:58:40","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T16:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qa.vet.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=13049"},"modified":"2021-08-13T12:58:40","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T16:58:40","slug":"deadline-today-for-purdue-employees-and-students-to-document-vaccination-or-accept-surveillance-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/deadline-today-for-purdue-employees-and-students-to-document-vaccination-or-accept-surveillance-testing.php","title":{"rendered":"Deadline Today for Purdue Employees and Students to Document Vaccination or Accept Surveillance Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/JAU2759_vaccine_sm-1024x660.jpg\" alt=\"A Purdue Pharmacy student gives a vaccine shot at IU Health\" class=\"wp-image-11173\" width=\"400\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/JAU2759_vaccine_sm-1024x660.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/JAU2759_vaccine_sm-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/JAU2759_vaccine_sm-768x495.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/JAU2759_vaccine_sm-365x235.jpg 365w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/JAU2759_vaccine_sm.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Fall 2021 semester, Boilermakers can choose to protect Purdue either by getting fully vaccinated with an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/protect.purdue.edu\/vaccine-information\/#approved-vaccines\" target=\"_blank\">approved vaccine<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/vaccine.purdue.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">submitting valid proof by<strong> today, August 13<\/strong><\/a>, or by participating in routine surveillance testing, which could be as frequently as weekly, and contact tracing beginning August 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students and employees in any of the following three categories will be required to participate in routine surveillance testing, possibly as frequently as weekly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Individuals who choose not to be vaccinated against COVID-19 (<em>excluding employees designated as 100% remote<\/em>).<\/li><li>Individuals who choose not to <a href=\"https:\/\/vaccine.purdue.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submit proof of vaccination<\/a> to the university.<\/li><li>Individuals who receive a vaccine that is not <a href=\"https:\/\/protect.purdue.edu\/vaccine-information\/#approved-vaccines\">recognized by the Protect Purdue Health Center<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees designated as critical to the continuity of core university operations (e.g., police, fire, medical, utility operators and others) who choose not to be vaccinated will be required to continue to participate in weekly surveillance testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are asked to submit proof <strong>by today, August 13<\/strong>, at <a href=\"http:\/\/vaccine.purdue.edu\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"vaccine.purdue.edu\">vaccine.purdue.edu<\/a> to be excused from surveillance testing. A list of approved vaccines is available at <a href=\"protect.purdue.edu\">protect.purdue.edu<\/a>. Employees and students who are fully vaccinated after August 13 should submit proof of vaccination at vaccine.purdue.edu to be excused from future surveillance testing.
