Resources for Faculty & Staff

The Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine has had several international visitors in recent months. In October, we were privileged to be visited by Rector Solti and Professor Micheli's from Szent Istvan University in Hungary. Rector Solti (who is a DVM) and Professor Micheli met with several PVM faculty and administrators to discuss potential future collaboration with PVM. Similarly, PVM hosted Rector Hunchak and vice-rector Stefanyk from Lviv University in the Ukraine in January. A Letter of Intent between the two universities was signed by Rector Hunchak and Dean Reed at a meeting which included the rector, vice-rector, Dean Reed, and all of the PVM associate deans and department heads.

Along with visits from international school administration, PVM also hosted two students from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno in the Czech Republic for the three week block 10 clinical rotation. The International Programs Office and various DVM students enjoyed hosting Lucia Hodulova and Katerina Jurasova at the annual PVM Thanksgiving dinner, a concert by the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, trips to Fair Oaks Farm and Eiteljorg Museum, and several other memorable activities.

The International Programs Committee continues to meet bi-monthly. Recent meetings have focused on the strategic plan for the International Programs Office, and the office's efforts to build strong strategic international relationships, including developing a variety of study abroad opportunities to DVM and Vet Tech students.
