CASPer™
The CASPer Test: Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics
All applicants who are applying to the DVM program at the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine are required to complete an online assessment (CASPer™), to assist with our selection process for the 2020-2021 application cycle. Successful completion of CASPer is mandatory in order to maintain admission eligibility.
CASPer is an online test which assesses for attributes and interpersonal characteristics we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program, and will complement the other tools we use for applicant screening. In implementing CASPer, we are trying to further enhance fairness and objectivity in our selection process. All applications are reviewed holistically and the information CASPer provides will be of additional benefit to the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine Admissions Committee.
The CASPer test is not required to be completed by the September 15th deadline. Testing dates and deadlines for Purdue University are listed on the CASPer website. For more information about the CASPer and to register for a testing date, please visit: https://takecasper.com/about-casper/
Altus Assessments has released Casper Snapshot, an extension of the Casper Test to help aid in the admissions process. Our program will NOT be requiring our applicants to complete Snapshot for this admissions cycle, however, please note that because of its one-time completion, other programs you are applying to may require it. You can learn more about Snapshot at the Casper site.
