Michael E. Lemmon, DVM
Mike is the CEO and co-owner of Whiteshire Hamroc, LLC. Whiteshire is an integrated company that includes crop and pig production, pig genetics, swine building designs and export activities. They have several swine building related patents and build AirWorks swine systems in the USA, Canada and Asia. Mike has been in the forefront of developing high health pigs and pig production systems for commercial pig production. Some of these systems also supply the veterinary and human medical fields with FDA approved pigs for both research and medical tissues uses. . Mike was raised on a diversified crop and livestock farm in Northern Indiana. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue in 1975, is a 2009 graduate of the Executive Veterinary Program, Class IV AgrIInstitute graduate and has served on the Purdue Animal Science Advisory Board, National Swine Registry Committees, and National SPF Health Advisory Board. After graduation, Mike practiced Veterinary Medicine for 2 years and was for 17 years the veterinary on farm inspector for the SPF Association. He has served as a USDA, FSA and NSR consultant in South America, Europe and Asia. Mike has an office in Beijing, 4 employees in China and averages 8-10 trips to Asia each year to provide service to their foreign clients and production partners, primarily in China. Mike lives near the family operation in Albion with his wife, Denise, and has 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Denise is retired and an active Grandmother and community volunteer. All four children have attended Purdue and achieved extended degrees in their fields with Ben and Andrew currently active in the family business.
