your adventure (PVM Students Only)

There are three different types of international opportunities from which students can choose. It is important to recognize the differences between these program types, because certain programs fit certain personalities and goals. Take the study abroad questionnaire to help you identify the best program for you, click here. Explore the pages below to see what programs are best for you.

PVM Faculty Led Programs

  • PVM Faculty are engaged internationally and have built strong ties with different partner universities throughout the world. Faculty-Led programs are headed by PVM faculty throughout the country or countries specified below. These programs are usually offered throughout the summer, and last for 2-3 weeks. Faculty members for these programs have mapped out the day-to-day activities for students.

Exchange Partnerships

  • Many of our successful partnerships develop from faculty relationships that begin with a simple interaction and/or a joint research project. These then grow into more formal university partnerships that may encompass additional activities such as student exchange, expanded joint research and scholarship opportunities. PVM has a number of partner universities that would love to work with you in research or clinical rotations. Please see the list in the link above and make an appointment with IP Office if any of these universities interest you.

International Opportunities / Other Externships:

  • The options in the link are both for-profit and non-profit organizations who provide opportunities in conjunction with universities around the world to all students. These programs have the most options available in terms of locations, courses to choose from, and duration. Most of these programs help you set everything up on the forefront, but they give you independence once you arrive in your host country. In order to receive credit for the VM 81001 International Externship Course, a veterinarian must be on-site for the program. Explore the options in the link and be sure to make an appointment with IP Office for assistance to explore these and more opportunities abroad.
