ASTRACT:

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is a neoplastic clonal proliferation of lymphocytes within hematopoietic tissue.  In dogs, this lymphoproliferative disorder is an infrequent finding which accounts for less than one percent of bone marrow disorders in the dog in one study.  Approximately 73% of canine chronic lymphocytic leukemias involve clonal proliferation of T lymphocytes, and approximately half of these cases demonstrate large granular lymphocyte morphology.  The present discussion will include a case report of large granular lymphocytic leukemia, various diagnostic modalities, and comparison with large granular lymphocytic leukemia in humans.
